Sage Snakechalmer's Private Dancer Pirouettes Into Opening Night Off-Broadway

She was never lovelier! Sage Snakechalmer's Private Dancer celebrates opening night December 5 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row. The multimedia, Rita Hayworth-inspired off-Broadway show will play a limited run through December 21.

Bob Degus directs the sole cast member and playwright herself, Snakechalmer, with choreography by Francesca Harper and composition by Brian Ralston.

Private Dancer features an opulent blend of story, choreography, music and film. Through Rita Hayworth’s life saga, the production explores the internal division between a celebrity’s artificial image and her heartbreaking and destructive hidden truths. The play discovers what happens when you’re at breaking point and the only thing that can save you is yourself.

The production will have set design by Abigail Benavides, lighting design by Joshua Rose and sound design by Lisa Fowle.
